Travis Warlick was born in Lamar County on January 4, 1925, and on January 7, 2012, he was reunited with his beautiful bride Marilyn in heaven. It was certainly a glorious day for the two of them to be together again. Travis served in World War II in Germany and received a Purple Heart. Upon his return, he attended Snead Junior College, received his B.A. from Birmingham-Southern College, and his Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. During this time Travis married his true love Marilyn Formby and began a life of ministry in the United Methodist Church. Travis lovingly served churches in the North Alabama Conference: Moody, Warrior, Langdale, Ft. Payne, Hueytown, McCoy (Birmingham), Sheffield, Albertville First, Holmes Street in Huntsville, District Superintendent of the Sylacauga and Florence Districts, and after "retirement" he served Fyffe, Belcher's Chapel and Julia Street Memorial (Boaz). Travis was ever-so-loved and will be dearly missed by his children, Janet Warlick Smith and husband Chuck of Wilsonville, AL, David Warlick of Americus, GA, and Ruth Warlick White of Tampa, FL; his grandchildren, Brian Smith, Jana Brasfield and husband Andrew, Travis Warlick, Jr. and wife Danielle, Margaret Warlick, and Tanner White; and great-granddaughters, Caleigh and Peyton Brasfield; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Graveside service will be held at 2:30pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
