Travis Smith

Travis "Pete" Smith age 84 of Birmingham, AL passed away on June 23, 2014. Pete was born in Slaughter, MS on September 5, 1929. He was a Seaman 1st Class in the U.S. Navy and a veteran of the Korean War. Pete was a Pioneer of the Junior Bowling League. He had a passion for fishing and was an avid golfer. He was a member of Altadena Valley Golf Club. His joy was his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Etha Smith; brothers, Eugene and Bay Earl Smith. Pete is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Virginia "Shorty" Smith; son, Robin "Bud" Smith; daughter, Elizabeth Carter; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Rickey Curren; grandchildren, Tanner Curren, Nicholas, Kyle and Christopher Smith, Tony Carter and Stephanie Ogle; great grandchild, April Ogle. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 5-7pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 11:00am at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Rev. Edwin Jenkins will be officiating. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
