Tommy Sims

Tommy Bliss Sims, age 55, of Trussville, Alabama, was surrounded by his loving family when he was called home to be with our Savior. Despite a difficult 3 A½ year battle with ALS, he was courageous in his fight. He will be remembered for his humor and laughter, his tremendous love for his family, spending time outside, and his love for Alabama Football. He is preceded in death by his father, Marshall Herbert Sims. He is survived by his wife Lori Grimmett Sims of 32 years; daughters, Kristen Sims Carroll (Jessie), Ashley Sims Deason (Jordan), and Lauren Sims; grandson, Jacob Hudson Carroll; mother, Audria Wayne Lowe; sister, Cindy Sims Carr; brother-in-law's, Carl E. Grimmett (Becky), and Kent D. Grimmett (Karen); and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home; burial will be on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ALS Association Alabama Chapter. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
