Tommie Key

Tommie Louise Watkins Key, age 67 of Trussville, AL passed away on November 3, 2008. She was a member of Vann Valley Assembly of God. She retired from the Jefferson County Inspection Service Department after 33 years of service. She is survived by her husband, Harold Key of Trussville, AL; daughter, Liz Wilson Hursh (Jim) of Trussville, AL; grandchildren, Lydia Hursh Dennis (T.J.) and T.J. Hursh; great granddaughter, Brylee Dennis; stepdaughter and stepson, Deidre Arnold and Kevin Key; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Tommie was a beloved member of her church and community. She enjoyed serving the Lord in numerous ways including Nursery director and deemed by many as the "Minister of Fun." She was a Minor High School Cheerleader and a graduate of the Class of 1959. One of her greatest pleasures was planning high school reunions. She loved life, Alabama football, traveling especially cruising the beach and the mountains. Tommie's family will be celebrating her homegoing. Her spirit of grace and perserverance will remain with us always. Services will be Thursday at Vann Valley Assembly of God at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at the church.
