Tommie Ann "Ta-Ta" Gardner

Tommie Ann "Ta-Ta" Gardner, of Odenville, Alabama was born on September 8, 1941, went to her heavenly home on April 1, 2014. Ta-Ta is survived by her brother, H. Dan Dedman (Nancy); her three sons: Bart Sheppard (Risa), Mark Sheppard (Becky) and Rett Sheppard (Patty); the loves of her life, thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Ta-Ta also leaves behind her friend and her "God Send", during a time of great need, Mr. Hugh Marlin. She was a member of the WGSSC at Crosspoint Church in Trussville, Alabama. She enjoyed the teaching and fellowship of the class. The cards and visits from the class were overwhelming. She was a follower of Jesus and had known him since her childhood. John 3:16 Ta-Ta's love for children carried over into her life and career. She was a foster parent for many years, taking in high profile cases of children in need of love, guidance and a home. Ta-Ta was also a kindergarten teacher at Parkway Christian Academy for 25 years.
If Ta-Ta could leave her loved one's any message, it would be, "Heaven is such beautiful place, nothing but clear sunny days, it never rains, no one complains, and I haven't seen a tear. I'm having a great time, wish you were here" Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Jefferson Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held from 10am until 12pm at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. Officiating will be Reverend Ryan Whitley and Brian Haskins Minister of Music of Crosspoint Church.
