Tillman Gannaway

Tillman Russell Gannaway of Pinson passed away August 5, 2009 at the age of 68. He served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps before receiving his master's in education from U.A.B. He retired after 28 years of service will the Jefferson County Board of Education. His passion was teaching special needs children. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Tillman Dixon and Katherine Eugena Gannaway. Visitation will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on Friday August 7, 2009 from 1-2:15PM. Graveside services will be held in Elmwood Cemetery at 3:00 PM. Survivors include his wife Patty Marlin Gannaway, step son: Tom Garvich, Jr. (Dana); step daughter: Angie Garvich Frick (Paul); grandson Aaron Cole Garvich; sister Janice Gannaway; and nephew Rob Mason. Serving as pall bearers: Oscar Madison, Chuck Dean, Lloyd Grady Palmer, Lloyd Palmer, Ronnie Trice, Bill Gannaway, and Rob Mason. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
