Thomas Tapley, Jr.

Thomas Joel Tapley Jr, 75 years old, of Hueytown, Alabama passed Sunday, April 2nd., 2023.

Thomas was born to Thomas Tapley Sr. and Elizabeth Hales Tapley, November 3rd, 1947, in Atlanta Georgia. He graduated from South Cobb High School in Atlanta GA. He married Nancy Carpenter in 1969 and lived together in Mableton, Georgia. Together they raised three children. 
He leaves as his legacy three daughters: Natasha Tapley, Natanya Tapley and Natina Tapley. He also leaves to cherish his memories nine grandchildren: Austin Williams, Marissa Webb, Audrey Williams, Charlie Davis, Brody Webb, Haley Jo Davis, Miranda Webb, Bobby Missildine and Zachariah Webb. Tom is also survived by his two siblings: Lamar Tapley and Janice Bearden. His children and family remember him as a kind-hearted charitable man.

After graduating high school Tom worked as a barber and was drafted in 1966 during the Vietnam eand was stationed in Germany. Tom also graduated technical school in Georgia and pursued a career in electronics and worked in the copier industry this then led to Tom becoming an educator and traveling the southeast and eventually became the Vice President of a company in Birmingham, AL. After working many years in the copier industry he returned to barbering and opened a barbershop in Hueytown, AL called " Tom Tapley's Old Tyme Barbershop". Tom also felt a call into the ministry where he pastored at several local churches and was an evangelist. He was known for sharing his love of Christ with customers for many years before retiring in 2013.

Tom was known for his love of Christ and his charitable nature. He also loved guns, spending time with his family and playing guitars including during his ministry.
