Thomas Smith

After a long 3 year battle with Cancer, Tom Smith went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 16th. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara J. Smith, his daughter Paula Peeples (Steve), son Jeff Smith (Mindy), son Steve Smith (Paula). He also leaves six Grandchildren (Ashley Smith, Melissa Smith, Hunter Smith, Michael Peeples, Brian Peeples and AJ DiCioccio) and two Great Grandchildren (Jarrett Peeples and Jace Peeples).

He had many loves in life. His main loves were Family and Friends, Playing Golf, His Church and Cheering for the Crimson Tide. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and worked for over 40 years at Blue Circle Cement. He was an active member of Saint Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church and he was a fourth degree with the Knights of Columbus.

Visitation will be at Saint Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, located at 7340 Cahaba Valley Road, Birmingham, AL, on Friday, October 21st staring at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Grave Site services will follow at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens at 1591 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, AL.
