Thomas Mayo

Thomas Oral "Tommy" Mayo died Saturday, December 27, 2014, age 76, after a period of declining health. Mr. Mayo was born March 2, 1938 in Tarrant. He was educated in the public schools of Jefferson County and worked for many years as a draftsman for IBM. He retired from Jim Walter Corporation. Mr. Mayo was a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church. For fifty years he was married to his beloved Claudell Chapman Holliday, who died in 2012. Her death took the light from his life. He is survived by three cousins: MaryAnn Chapman of Hartsville, South Carolina, Randy Brock and Renick Adams of Gadsden. Visitation will be held at 10:00 on Friday, January 2, 2015, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. and be conducted by the Rev. Joe Slane.
