Thomas Harris

Thomas B. “Tom” Harris, age 75 gained his wings on Friday, February 5, 2021. He grew up in East Lake Community and graduated from Woodlawn High School class of 1964. He worked at Hayes International/PEMCO Aeroplex for 43 years where he met many lifelong friends, and most recently worked at Town and Country Ford in Pell City. He was a devoted husband, father, Pawpaw and G’Pop. His hobbies included restoring Cushman scooters and performing with Warblers Alumni Choir. He knew our Lord and Savior. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 34 years, Jane Harris; his parents, Lenton and Nellie Harris; sister, Betty Guthrie and brother, Kenneth Harris. He is survived by his children, Michael T. Harris (Lisa), and Wendy Harris Ireland (Shawn); sister, Joyce Lees (Tony); grandchildren Emilee H. Dotson (Kyle), Matthew T. Ireland (Keri) and Joshua M. Harris. He also leaves behind two great grandchildren, Lexi and Daniel Ireland and multiple nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 13th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville. The funeral will at Jefferson Memorial Chapel at 12:00 p.m. with burial to immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial’s adjoining cemetery. His brother-in-law, Brother Tony Lees and Pastor Jacky Morgan will preside over the service.
