Thelma G. Smith, went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born in Virginia, on April 2, 1938. She was the seventh of eight children born to Henry and Florence Gibson.

Thelma spent time daily in God’s word, Psalms 91 was a favorite. She had a loving and generous soul. She happily gave care and support to those in need. One of her best talents was being able to give a quick and funny comeback. She truly loved her family, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

Thelma enjoyed Old Gospel and country music. Listening to Charlie Pride while eating orange rolls was the beginning of a good day. She loved Christmas especially Christmas baking with family. Thelma was a three-time cancer survivor.

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, “I used everything you gave me”. By Emma Bombeck
