Teresa Gordon

Teresa Lynn Gordon, beloved daughter, sister, and friend joined her heavenly Father on September 15, 2021 after a courageous decade-long battle with breast cancer.

She is reunited in heaven with her family: Mother, Mary Jo Camp Gordon; Father, Charles Howell Gordon; brother, Charles Howell Gordon, Jr.; her grandparents and her Yorkie, Pinky.

Born January 11, 1961 in Birmingham, Teresa was valedictorian of E.B. Erwin class of 1979. She attended Auburn University and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, a Sigma Phi Epsilon Little Sister, and was a hostess for the Auburn football team. After earning a degree with honors in 1983 she used her major in International Business with Spanish emphasis as a flight attendant for American Airlines for 10 years. Afterwards she started her own vacation property management company in her beloved Playa del Carmen, Mexico where she lived until returning to Birmingham in 2015 to be near and care for her mother.

A life-long member of Huffman Baptist Church, she was steadfast in her love for her family, friends, and her Lord. Teresa leaves behind many cousins and dear friends who enjoyed her loving and vivacious personality and who admired her courage, optimism, and fighting spirit. She was beautiful inside and out - her smile would light up any room. She also leaves behind her sweet Yorkie, Graciella. Teresa was always thankful for all the dear friends and relatives who took such loving care of her toward the end of her life. Those family and friends extend our deepest gratitude to Hope Hospice and caregivers, Wanda and Gloria.

A celebration of Teresa’s life will be held at Huffman Baptist Church on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:30 am. Donations can be made in Teresa’s memory to Huffman Baptist Church, 700 Huffman Road, Birmingham, AL 35215 or to the charity of one’s choice.
