Susie Holcomb

Susie Carruba Holcomb passed away on April 14, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Jesse Needam Carruba, 5 brothers and 5 sisters, and son in law Billy Webster Rhudy. She grew up in Margaret, Alabama. Susie retired from Parisian Department Store in Birmingham, Alabama in 1974 after 27 years. She was a active member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Springville, Alabama where she once served as an Usherette, Sunday school teacher, Director of the Youth and Young Married's groups and Director of the church kitchen. She is survived by her husband of 69 wonderful years Leland Arthur Holcomb, 2 daughters Rosemary Rhudy (Billy) and Karen Sue Hand (John, Sr.), 6 grandchildren Tina Hicks (Mark), Billy Rhudy (Rhonda), Leland Rhudy (Amy), John E. Hand, Jr. (Susan), Andy A. Hand (Sylvia), and Joseph R. Hand (Suzanne). She also dearly loved her 9 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday April 17th at Gospel Assembly Church in Springville, Al from 6:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. with a service immediately following . Rev Clyde Sharber Officiating. Graveside service will be at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, AL at 11:00a.m. on Friday April 25th. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
