Sonia Bolton Jones

Sonia Jean Jones, 86, of Trussville passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Ascension St Vincent’s in Birmingham. She was born December 18th, 1937. She was one special lady to all who she came in contact with from her family members to neighbors, church congregation and her precious lifelong friends. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, dedicated mother + grandparent, and lover of all things joyful. She always had a story to tell and a craft she couldn’t wait to create with family.

She is survived by her children, Melissa (Robby) Clark, Walt (Cindy) Jones and Jennifer Swatek; grandchildren, Ian (Shawna) Clark, Savannah (Blake) Cotter, Ashley (Matt) Bailey, Austin Jones, India Clark, Hunter (Meleigha) Swatek, and Ethan Swatek; as well as her 8 great grandchildren, Paisley Cotter, Jackson Cotter, Mckenzie Bailey, Clark Cotter, Layla Jean Clark, Lawton Swatek, Graham Bailey, and Maggie Jo Clark.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Charlotte and Leonard Arvil Bolton; her husband, Walter Earl Jones Sr., whom she was married to from 1957 until his death in 2013.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 5th, 2024 from 10am to 11am at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens. Chapel Services will be held at 11:00 am; Graveside services will follow; Pastor Blake Cotter will be officiating at graveside.
