Sidney Jones

Sidney Sylvester Jones Jr. "Papa", age 84, of Birmingham, went to be with his loving wife, Linda Grissom Jones (1939-1990) on February 24, 2013. He was born in Eastlake on October 15, 1928, son of the late Sidney S. Jones Sr. and Mamie Louise Jones. He attended Woodlawn High School. Sid and Linda raised their family in Roebuck Plaza. He was a former employee of Hayes Aircraft and retired from US Gypsum Corp. He is survived by his children, Michael (Linda) Jones, Kenny (Jan) Jones, Cindy (Doug) King, and Dennis (Jaime) Jones; grandchildren Jennifer (Robbie) Batting, Wayne Jones, Kayla Jones, Aleisha (Cory) Simpson, Kyle Easterling, Devin Jones, Joey Jones, Shelia Jones, Kel Easterling, Sydney Jones, Amber (Mark) Willenbrock and Dixie King; great granddaughter Maddie Grayce Batting and two great grandsons; special Niece Connie Dempsey Johnson and many loving family and friends. Services will be on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be a prior to services at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.
