Shirley York

Shirley Wiggins York, age 78, died on September 29, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Don U. York, sister Susan Jarvis, a number of nieces, nephews, and also many good friends. "To know her was to love her." She was a graduate of Woodlawn High School, class of 1950, member of Community Bible Study, president of Roebuck Springs Garden Club, and a very active member of Roebuck Plaza Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her Family and Friends will all her heart. Her greatest joy was doing for others. The family wants to thank the Doctors and Staff of St. Vincent's MICU for the attention and care given to Shirley. The funeral will be Monday, October 4, 2010 at 12:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville. Visitation will be from 10:30 am until the time of service. Rev. Jim Auchmuty will be officiating over the services. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions in Shirley's memory to First Baptist Church Roebuck Plaza or to your favorite charity.
