Shirley Brumbeloe Chandler, 85, of Pipe Creek, TX, passed away on May 12, 2022, due to health complications and a severe stroke.
Shirley was born on March 20, 1937 to Hattie Mae Jackson and Hobert W. Brumbeloe in Tarrant City, Alabama. She graduated salutatorian from Hewitt Trussville High School in 1955. In her later years, she continued her study of art at Portland State University.
Shirley excelled at propping up others during difficulties in their lives through her wise counsel and vast life experiences. She was beautiful and known to be feisty, strong-willed and a fighter to the very end. She was passionate about life and possessed artistic gifts from painting, writing and in the garden. She loved to travel and enjoyed trips across the country, several trips to Hawaii and a dream trip to Italy. Her dynamic spirit will be missed here on earth but her presence will always be felt in the lives of those who loved her—“a breath away’s not far to where you are.”
Shirley was predeceased by her son, Roe A. Chandler III, her six siblings and her parents. Shirley is survived by her three living children, Tonia Denice Chandler, Ray Alan Chandler (Kimmie) and Shirley Dolores Chandler; her six grandchildren Roe A. “Beau” Chandler IV, Erica Anne Doyle Philbin (Gabe), Andrew Marshall Doyle, Marina Ashley Chandler Resendez (Paul), Mira Camile Pennington, William Hayden Stewart and two great grandchildren Amira Chandler Resendez and Luna Faye Resendez.
