Sharon W. Burton, 75, of Adger, AL entered into eternal life in heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 12, 2024.
On November 2, 1948, Sharon was born in Anniston, AL on to Cooper and Betty(Nettie)Wingo.
Sharon and William T. Burton, her surviving husband, were united in marriage on May 11, 1997, and would have celebrated 27 years of marriage next month. She is also survived by her brother, Gerald C. Wingo of Anniston, Alabama.
She was a wonderful and loving mother to her three children; Jonathon, Jerry, and Jill Abernathy, and three step- children, whom she loved as her own; David, Tammy, and Matthew Burton.
In addition to being a passionate mother and wife, she was a proud “Nana” to thirteen grandchildren; Valerie White, Annalee Abernathy, Darby Abernathy, Jon Will Abernathy, Wesley Abernathy, Shelby Abernathy, Anna Grace Abernathy, Jesse Thomas, Ansley Jenkins, Austin Jenkins, Faith Ryan, Natalie Burton, and Sofia Burton, and six great-grandchildren; Weston, Olivia, Brantley, Ryder, and Sawyer.
As she is laid to rest in her heavenly home, she joins her late husband Jerry Morgan Abernathy; brothers, Calvin and Bobby Wingo; sister, Norma Regions; and grandsons, Jonathon Taft Abernathy II “Jon Taft” and Peyton Abernathy.
Sharon was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. She faithfully and joyfully worshipped at New Hope Church in Springville, AL for over 12 years. She leaves her family a legacy of God’s amazing love and grace and was an example of His love to all who knew her. We look forward to the day that we will be reunited with her in heaven.
