Sarah Rushen

Sarah C. Rushen September 25, 1944 - October 18, 2022 Sarah C. Rushen, 78 of Talladega passed away on October 18, 2022. The family will receive friends at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville on Tuesday, October 25th from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. She was preceded in death by her son Bobby Blake Rushen and sister Joyce Logan. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bobby Joe Rushen; daughter-in-law Cheryl Rushen; grandchildren Erin (Brandon) Bentley, Kristen (Jonathan) Odom, Zachary (Amanda) Rushen; great grandchildren Thomas Clausen, Adley Bentley, Olivia Rushen, Henry Rushen, Taylor Rushen and Lauren Rushen; brothers James (Guylene) Jackson and Larry (Karen) Cooper. As well as many other loved family members. Sarah grew up in Birmingham and graduated from Shades Valley High School. In later years she was an integral part in the foundation of Rushen Rigging, Inc now known as G&R Mineral Services. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and known as GRANNY to all that knew her. Her laughter and joy for life encompassed the loving spirit she carried. Her selflessness and giving nature will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Jimmy Hale Mission to be given in Sarah's name.
