Sarah O'Beirne

Sarah Elizabeth O'Beirne, 88, passed away quietly on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer 's disease and lived with it for nine years. She was born in NC and lived in Newport News/Hampton, VA the majority of her life. Sarah lived in Birmingham, AL for several years. She loved the Lord and was a member of Chalkville First Baptist. She also loved sewing, cooking, and crafts. She had a multitude of talents and was proud to be a homemaker for her husband and family. Sarah was preceded in death by her husband Ellis Lee O'Beirne and oldest son, Albert Lee O'Beirne of Yorktown, VA. She was the last surviving child of Willie Ervin Jones and Carrie Lee Jones. Chapel services will be held on Saturday, Oct 12, at 2pm with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. She is survived by her youngest son, David R. O'Beirne (Linda) of Gloucester VA, daughter Phyllis Harris (Mike) of Trussville, AL; five grandchildren, one step-grandson, seven great grandchildren and two step-grandsons.
