Sarah Flickinger

Sarah Harris Flickinger, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep this past Saturday, at the age of 97. Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Brooke Todd Flickinger; her parents, Armstrong Middleton Harris and Eliza “Lidie” Gay Harris; her sister, Lidie Gay Allen and nephew, Robert Warren Allen. Sarah is survived by her three daughters, Sandra Fortner, Janet McAlister (David), and Brooke Hallman (Mike); grandchildren, Trey Fortner (Sara), Todd Fortner, Hunter McAlister; Chris Hallman (Heather), Haley Ballard (Barry), and Andrew Hallman (Bre); great grandchildren, Cole and Parker Fortner, Ava Brooke Fortner, Gray and Reid Hallman, and Ben and Sarah Brooke, Louise Ballard. She was also survived by her loving nephew, Ricky Allen (Cheryl) and niece, Pattie Gay Allen. Sarah was an Educational Secretary at Comer School for 28 years. She was also an active member of Crestway Baptist Church where she had many loving friends. The family will hold visitation at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31st with a chapel service immediately following. Brother Jimmy Wilson will officiate. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Crestway Baptist Church in memory of Sarah Flickinger.
