Sara Adkins

Sara McClurg Adkins, age 85 of Irondale, Alabama passed away February 28, 2015. Mrs. Adkins was a life long resident of Irondale where she attended the First Baptist Church for over 60 years. Mrs. Adkins was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Theodore and Freida McClurg, husband, Roy A. Adkins Jr., grandsons, Brian Crocker and Andrew Brand. She is survived by children Michael Adkins, Michelle Crocker, Pam Brand and Trace Adkins, grandchildren, Rebecca Redmond, Michael Adkins Jr, Molly Hatcher, Rebecca Macke, four great-grandchildren, brother Bill McClurg, sister Betty Jo Hart and sister-in-law, Maxine Wade. Mrs. Adkins graduated from Carraway Methodist School of Nursing, Class of 1950. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Carraway Methodist and East End Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a loving Mother with a humble heart and will be greatly missed. Services will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Trussville on March 3,2015 at Noon with Visitation one hour prior to Service. Rev. Ed Sims officiating. Burial at Forest Crest Cemetery.
