Sandra Evers

Sandra Ann Sims Evers, 69, went to be with her Savior, Wednesday, September 28 surrounded by family. She was born in Birmingham in 1942 and had been married to her best friend, Herman Evers Jr. for over 36 years. She graduated from West End High School in 1960 and retired after 30 years of service with the City of Birmingham Police Department. She had many friends and was a member of several social lunch groups. Her two prized possessions here on earth were her two granddaughters, Lexi and Layla who will miss their "Momma" more than words can say. She was the perfect example of how a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend should be and will be deeply missed by all. We know that God must be smiling for her life was filled with worth you see all who knew Sandra Evers, watched her make alive this rule

Sandra was a long time member of Northpark Baptist Church and recently had been attending Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Leeds. She is preceded in death by her father A.R. Sims and mother Ruth Hailey Sims. She is survived by her husband, Herman Evers Jr.; daughter Natalie Evers Vernon (Josh); brother Roy Sims Jr. (Sharon); 2 granddaughters Lexi and Layla Vernon; niece Kelly Sims Herron (Keith); nephew Roy Sims III (Stevi), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A service to honor the wonderful person she was will be held, Saturday October 1, at 2:00 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville with Brother Billy Abrams officiating. Visitation will be held two hours before the service. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
