Sandra Ann McCarter DeGrado, age 75, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Friday evening March 18th after battling chronic health conditions.
Sandra was born and raised in the greater Birmingham, Alabama area with her two sisters and brother. She graduated from West End high school in 1964 and had a productive career in a local business. As a loving, kind-hearted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sandra always prioritized the importance of family. She was a member of the Trussville Church of Christ and a longtime resident of Trussville, Alabama.
Indeed, Sandra will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but will be remembered fondly and live on through cherished stories and life lessons.
Sandra is survived by her daughters, Deanna (Marcas) Bamman and Heidi DeGrado; grandchildren, Madison (Scott) Spidell, Garrett Bamman, Sophia Bamman, Zac Ball and Tyler Ball; great-grandchild, Mitchel Ball; brother Don McCarter; sister Joyce (Jack) Green; and brother-in-law Ralph Lyles, along with many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her sister Martha Lyles and her parents.
Service will be held Monday, March 28, 2022 at noon at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, Alabama. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to noon.
