Sandra Blackwell, 73, passed away on September 24, 2021, in Birmingham, AL.

Sandra is survived by her husband Michael Wayne Blackwell of Springville, her stepfather Jerry Matthews, brother Terry Nation, and sister Cheryl Whitaker.

Sandra married Michael Wayne Blackwell on June 17, 1966 at Gospel Assembly Church. The couple had 2 children, Dana and Michael.

Sandra is preceded in death by Kenneth Nation - father, Faye Nation - mother, Dana Blackwell - daughter, Michael Wayne Blackwell, Jr. - son, Kenny Nation - brother, Gus Nation - grandfather, Audie Donley - grandfather, Mae Nation - grandmother, Lettie Donley - grandmother

Sandra Blackwell was born on April 21, 1948 in Eldorado, IL, to Kenneth and Faye Nation.
Sandra graduated from Banks High in 1966 and went on to earn a Bachelors Degree from University of Alabama in 1997. She became the Director of Music and continued serving in this capacity until her time of death.

If Sandra could speak to the church today, she would say, "Be steadfast and unmovable in God, continue singing in your heart and with Joy carry on until you reach that perfect place in God or until the day God calls you home."

The service for Sandra Blackwell will be held on Sunday, October 3rd, at 12:00pm at Gospel Assembly Church located at 300 Murphrees Valley Road, Springville, AL.

Visitation: Saturday, October 2nd, 7:00pm - 9:00pm at Gospel Assembly Church, 300 Murphrees Valley Rd.

Burial: Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, AL.
