Samuel Smith

Graveside service for Samuel W. Smith, 72, will be Monday, December 20, 2010 at Forest Hill Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be from 11:00AM - 12:00PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, Alabama. Mr. Smith died Friday, December 17, 2010 at St. Vincent's East Hospital following a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Claudia Smith and a sister, Linda Williams. He is survived by his wife, Jan Smith; one daughter, Lynn Migliara (Robert); two sons, Brad Smith (Annette) and Nathan Smith; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Molly. Mr. Smith retired a decorated army officer, achieving the rank of Lt. Colonial and serving two tours in Vietnam. Mr. Smith was an avid university of Alabama football fan, bass fisherman, and coordinator of the Logan Martin Lake cleanup for several years. He was also a member of the Pell City Kiwanis Club.
