Samuel Barnes

Mr. Samuel Barnes Jr., proud U.S. Navy veteran was born January 10, 1942 and passed away on February 21, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Z.L. (Sam) Barnes and mother, Mrs. Laverne (Elrod) Barnes. He is survived by his wife, Nelda; daughter, Ms. Kathy Bolinger and son, Mr. Steve Barnes (Tracie); grandchildren, Adam and Eric Bolinger and Caroline and Clay Barnes; brothers, Mr. Noonan Barnes (Shirley), Mr. Charles Barnes; sisters, Mrs. Alice Kennedy (Richard) and Mrs. Mary O'Brian (Mike) and many nieces and nephews. In his retirement he enjoyed having family and friends up to his farm, especially his grandchildren to go fishing. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24 beginning at 11:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Chapel services at 12:00 PM with Bro. Jack Washington officiating and burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
