Ruth Cleland

Ruth Morris Cleland, 89, of Birmingham, AL passed peacefully to Heaven Sunday, February 22, 2009. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, the service at 12:00 PM, burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Garden. Ruth was a life long member of First Baptist Church, Chalkville, AL but attended services at Golden Living Center, Trussville, AL the last few years. The Reverend Bill Keim will be officiating. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Erskine Cleland and parents, Ragan P. Morris and Ava Stowe Morris, sister, Neva Morris Dawson (Brunell), brother, R.P. Morris, and granddaughter, Christy Cleland. She is survived by her sons, Bobby Cleland (Mary), Montgomery, AL, Billy Cleland, Birmingham, AL, daughter, Brenda Cleland Sheckles (Cliff), Birmingham, AL., grandchildren, Catherine Cleland, John Cleland (Lisa), Barry Cleland all of Montgomery, AL, Kim Kelley (Ray) Centreville, AL, Kris Ann Schrader (Carl), Shelby, AL, Carmen Lewis, Birmingham, AL, Shawn Barakat , Birmingham,AL,and 9 Great Grandchildren. Sisters, Lois Wilson, Tyler Texas, Blanch Deavers (Jack), Pomona, Calif., Brother, Kenneth Morris, Atlanta, Ga. Pallbearers, John Cleland, Barry Cleland, Cliff Sheckles, Ray Kelley, Brandon Neely, Carl Schrader.
