Russell "Rusty" Dennis Howard passed away on September 28, 2023, at the age of 69. He was born on January 7, 1954, to Frank & Dola Howard. Rusty grew up in the Birmingham area where he graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1972. He worked at AAA Cooper Transportation faithfully for 40 years. In recent years he has enjoyed his retirement with his loving wife of 38 years. He loved spending time at their lake house with family, riding on the boat, and grilling out. He always looked forward to his annual Florida trip to spend time with his PCB family. Probably his biggest joy was watching his grandbabies do what they love whether it was racing cars, playing baseball, football, soccer, or playing in the band. He loved his church family at Faith Community Fellowship in Pell City. He thoroughly enjoyed his prayer warrior team, greeting members on Sunday morning, bi-weekly men's luncheon, and bible study class.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank & Dola Howard, sister Debbie Wood, and half-brother Frank Howard as well as a host of many other loved ones who welcomed him with loving arms in Heaven.
He is survived by his dog Levi, his loving wife Janet Howard, children Steve Walden (Kelsi), Jenney Trucks (Tommy), Hillary Dunnaway (Michael), and grandchildren; Cole, Sydney, Preston, Ava, Annaleigh, Tucker, Lizzie, Ethan, Dylan, Hannah, Emma, & Annie, great-grand baby Addy, his brother Jimmy Howard, and a host of nieces and nephews he adored.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Faith Community Fellowship in Pell City. The Pell City Campus, 7660 Gadsden Highway, Trussville, AL 35173.
