Ronald Wayne Little of Birmingham, age 84, entered his Heavenly home on June 30, 2016. He died peacefully and was surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 22, 1931 in Liberal, Kansas, he was a loving father, retired Lieutenant Colonel and Master Army Aviation pilot, and also an entrepreneur in the field of construction. His hobbies included sailing, fishing, collecting sail boat replicas and flying helicopters. His many accomplishments included achieving the degree of Master Mason, as well as receiving several honors from the United States military. Mr. Little served in Vietnam and was awarded many honors and medals some of which include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Silver Star in the 1st Infantry Division. He graduated from both the Oklahoma Military Academy and Central State College with a degree in education and also had a short football career while at Central State. He enjoyed eating anything sweet, softshell crab and spinach artichoke dip from Red Robin. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Edna Little, brothers Bill Little and Bob Little, his first wife Alma Jean Little and his loving wife Ina Little, as well as his children Terrie Canaday, John Little and Phillip Little. He is survived by his daughter Brandi Harris and her husband Jonathan, as well as his sons Steve Little and Brandon Little, his brother Nolan Little and his wife Robyn, and his grandchildren Holly Canaday, John Little Jr., and Sean Little. He has one great grandchild named Stevie Smith. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 5th at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville from 4:30-7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Friday, July 8th at 10:00 am with Jefferson Memorial directing. Graveside military burial will follow later that afternoon at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo at 2:45 pm. The family will receive and appreciate flowers at Jefferson Memorial or a donation to a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers if you prefer.
