Ronald Lee Johns, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Jan., 16, 2017, after a brave battle with ALS. Ronald graduated from Hewitt-Trussville in 1961 and worked locally at Stockham Valve for 19 years. He also worked for AutoZone Corp. for 22 years before retirement. Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Jack A. Johns and mother, Nellie Johns. Ronald is survived by his wife, Linda Johns; his sons, Mark Lee Johns (Leanne) of Atlanta, GA, Ronnie Johns of Birmingham, Richard DeVaney (Suzanne) of Pinson; daughters, Tammy Johns of Grayson, GA, Teri Killough (Duane) of Odenville, and Susan Stembridge (Jim) of Birmingham; his wonderful grandchildren, who he loved greatly and was loved by, Derek Johns, Alexis Killough, Jessica Johns, Jennifer Johns, Emily Stembridge, Jack Stembridge. The family would like to express deep appreciation and thanks to North Clay Baptist Church congregation, the Chapter Y - AL Goldwing Club, and the local ALS Association and members for their support.Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2pm at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. A visitation will begin at 12pm. A private burial will follow for family only. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the ALS Association Alabama Chapter, PO Box 2888, Huntsville AL 35804.
