Ronald Lewis Coulter P.E., age 98 of National City, California, passed away on January 2nd, 2022. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 23, 1923. Ronald Lewis Coulter graduated from Phillips High School, Birmingham, Alabama and received 3 degrees, first Tool and Die Engineering degree and Associate degree in criminal Justice from Southwestern Collage, Chula Vista, Ca. He was married to 2 wonderful ladies, first was Virginia Mae Coulter on August 22, 1942 and the second was Flossie Merkle March 5, 2014.
Ronald Lewis Coulter had a career in Tool and Manufacturing Engineer, Sr. for Rohr Industry, Chula Vista, California. He served as a Staff Sgt. in the Army receiving the American Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal and WWII Victory Medal. He was a member of Rohr Square & Compass Club, National City Police Reserves, Professional Engineering Association & Civil Defense Manager for National City, California and had a passion for being an HAM Radio Operator – his call sign was: “WB6JQI”
Ronald was survived by his loving children: Roy Coulter, Nina Lundquist and Gina Sullivan; his cherished grandchildren: Heidi Coulter, Michael Drury, Mark Drury, Jason Sullivan, David Sullivan and several great grandchildren and also his sisters: Evelyn Campbell and Helen Morris
A 12:00 noon Chapel Service will be held on Saturday, January 29th, 2022 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral home, Trussville, Alabama; the family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 to 12:00 PM. Burial will be within Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Birmingham, Alabama.
