Ronald Andrew Carroll (aka Ronnie, Ron, Daddy & SeeSaw) was born in Fairfield, AL and was raised in Troy, AL at the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home. Ron graduated from Charles Henderson High School and attended Walker College. He had a 46 year career at Alabama Power Company, which included serving in the United States Army in Vietnam.
Ron is survived by the love of his life, Cindy Carroll, who he was married to for almost 52 years and his children
Andy Carroll (Tiffany), Abby Wingard (Chris), his four greatest joys Christian Carroll, Emma Wingard, Caroline Wingard and Chloe Carroll. Siblings, Juanita Carroll, Jim Carroll (deceased), Michael Humphrey (Michelle), sisters in law Linda Huey and Sally Graves and ABCH “brothers and sisters”. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews (greats and great greats) and a host of cousins.
Ron’s love of the Lord, life and people; helped him as he served First Baptist Church Trussville for 47 years, teaching preschool Sunday School, walking babies in extended care and many youth retreats as a counselor.
Softball was his passion, having played on many teams, including church, Alabama Power and Senior softball (50-75 year olds). He was inducted into the Central Alabama Softball Hall of Fame.
Our family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Vincent’s St. Clair for the love and care given to Ron and our family.
Memorials may be made to Alabama Baptist Children’s Home and Family Ministries or First Baptist Church Trussville.
A celebration of Ron’s life will take place at a later date.
