Roger Dale Whitten

Roger Dale Whitten, age 58, of Birmingham, AL passed into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ, on Thursday, July 4, 2019. Roger was born January 7, 1961 to the late Jonnie C. Hartzog and Bobby E. Whitten. Gifted with a contagious smile and laughter and deep love for family, he was well respected by all who knew and loved him. His profession as a general contractor allowed him to bless so many with not only his talent and professionalism but the gift of his friendship. He is survived by his son Roger Jacob Whitten, daughter Kristin D. Miller (Heath) and granddaughter Haleigh D. Webster; surviving brothers Bobby J. Whitten, David Hartzog, Ricky Hartzog (Janice), Michael Hartzog (Vickie); sisters Peggy Gibbs (Mark), Jennie Shariett (DeWayne) and Linda Elrod. He left many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family who all held him in the highest regard. The family and friends will gather for a celebration of life at 2pm, on Friday at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Trussville, Alabama. Visitation will be from 1pm until 2pm Friday.
