Roger D. Rice of, Pinson, AL went home to be with Jesus, at the age of 68, after he lost the battle to a sudden and aggressive cancer. Roger was a Vietnam Veteran and attended Jefferson State Community College from 1976-1977. He worked as a mechanic for heavy equipment for several years. His most important role in life was being a wonderful husband and loving father.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Ruby Rice and one grandson, Trey Adams.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Connie Jane Frederick Rice; two daughters, Allison Adams and Tamara Box (Clayton); one sister, Patsy Rice; four grandchildren, Dakota, Arielle, and Destiny Karluk and Megan Adams; he also leaves behind many loving cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 at 2PM. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Brother Randy Hale is officiating.
