Rodney David Triplett, born on June 9, 1943, passed away on January 9, 2013. Rod graduated from Woodlawn High School and Samford University. He worked for 1st National Bank in Birmingham, and while there he received his second degree, accounting, from Samford. Later he was self-employed in home improvements for many years. He was a former member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, and was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church. Rod is survived by his wife, Gay; brother, Harold Triplett (Sandy); niece, Leslie Howard (David); great nieces, Amanda Farmer (Brandon), Katie Buckner (Pike), and their families, Jenny, Hannah, and Amy Claire Howard; great nephews, David Howard, Jr. and Samuel Howard. Rod also leaves his uncle, Larry Triplett (Rosemary) of Port St. Lucie, FL, and his aunts, Louise Van Zandt of Little Rock, AR, Sarah T. Turner of Arrington, VA, and Joyce T. Allagood of Mt. Airy, NC, and numerous cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Grace Presbyterian Church, 6110 Deerfoot Parkway, Trussville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church or Grace Presbyterian Preschool. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
