Robert Stanley Washer, Jr

Robert Stanley "Stan" Washer, Jr., age 84, passed away on April 9, 2025. Mr. Washer was born in Louisville, KY on January 8, 1941. Stan retired from Bellsouth Phone Company after many years of service. He also worked for Positive Maturity after his retirement. Mr. Washer coached sports and was a High School Football Official. He was a Boy Scout Leader, donated blood very often for many years. He was a member of Huffman United Methodist Church; served in many positions at the church and was President of the Phoenix Class. Mr. Washer also served as the Director of the Eastern Area Ministry. Stan also worked with Meals on Wheels. He really loved the outdoors, hiking, camping and sports.

Mr. Washer was preceded in death by his father Robert Stanley Washer; mother, Rosemary Ennis Washer; brother, James Preston Washer.

Stan is survived by his wife of 37 years Rita Washer; children, Kathy (George) Jones, Robert Stanley (Mary Alys) Washer III, Michael Todd (Melissa) Washer, Tony Blackwell, Christy (Michael) Franklin; grandchildren, Tara (Bill) Dugger, Rachel (Ernesto) Arencibia, Lacey (Kevin) Maslyn, Robbie (Anna) Washer, Regan (Leah) Washer, Ryan (Nicole) Washer, Kaitlyn (Jospeh) Cummings, Emily Blackwell, Molly Franklin and Henry Franklin and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, William Lee Washer.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. A Chapel Service will be held at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Angela Martin officiating.
