Robert Chafin

On Sunday, July 4, 2021, Robert Randall Chafin (Randy), loving father and husband, passed away suddenly at the age of 68. He was born on Nov 12, 1952 in Birmingham, AL. He worked at the Birmingham Water Works & Sewer Board for 33 years until his retirement and received his engineering degree from UAB. He married Donna Jean Ward on April 7, 1973. They raised two daughters, Lauren and Jennie. He was known for his kindness, compassion, quick wit, sense of humor, and joyful nature. His passion was helping others. He lived in Gulf Shores, AL for the past 10 years and loved spending his days out on the water. Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia; his father, Robert; and his wife, Donna. He is survived by his two children, Lauren and Jennie; his siblings, Richard, Michael, Jeri, and Teri; and two grandchildren.
