Robert H. Hobbs of Trussville, AL passed away on Oct. 26, 2010 at age of 78. He was ordained as a Deacon at Eastmont Bapt. Church and taught Sunday School. He was a former member of 85th Street Bapt. Church and a present member of Deerfoot Bapt. Church. He attended Woodlawn where he played football and ran Track. He attended Howard College and Samford University. He was in the Dry Cleaning business all of his life after serving in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War on the U.S.S. Consolation. He was instrumental in starting Little League Football in Birmingham and naming the Championship Game the Shug-Bear Bowl game at Legion Field. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Wallace Hobbs; son, Robert E. Hobbs; daughters, Jada and Joy Hobbs; grandson, Stephen Hobbs. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010 from 5 to 7PM at Jefferson Mem Funeral Home. Services will be on Monday at 2:00 PM at Jefferson Mem Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Jefferson Mem Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
