Robert Hawthorne

Robert E. Hawthorne, 80 of Trussville passed away on January 27, 2011. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He graduated from Auburn in 1953 with an Electrical Engineering Degree and retired from Alabama Power Company after 34 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jennilu Hawthorne. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Dora Lee Hawthorne; two sons, Robert E. Hawthorne, Jr. and his wife, Karen of Trussville AL and Rodney M. Hawthorne and his wife Robin of Austin TX; four grandchildren, Robert E. Hawthorne, III "Trey", Lynn M. Hawthorne, Chase M. Hawthorne and Avery S. Hawthorne; one great grandchild, Cayden R. Hawthorne and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 29 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel services will be on Sunday, January 30 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Smith officiating and burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. The family would like to express their thanks to Angels of Mercy for their loving care through this difficult time.
