Robert Hancock

Robert George Hancock died on December 5, 2015 in Birmingham, AL at the age of 79. Robert was born on Oct. 19, 1936 in Monticello, MS to Abner Percy Hancock and Pearlie Mason Hancock. He married Janice Adkins in 1964 in Gulfport, MS then moved to Birmingham, AL and began working for Richard Kelly Chevrolet in 1972 located in Center Point, AL and then he retired in 2008 from Post Air Gas located in Birmingham, AL. He was also a member of the Birmingham Square Dance Association for many years. He is preceded in death by his father, Abner Percy Hancock, mother, Pearlie Mason Hancock of Monticello, MS, brothers, John Jackson Hancock and Tommy Hancock; sister, Margaret Smith all of Gulfport, MS. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice Hancock; son, Retired Air Force, Tracy Hancock (Taylor) of Washington, DC; daughters, Kitty Warner (Mark) of Franklin, TN and Wendy Smith (Greg) of Moody, AL; sister, Terry Applewhite (Andrew) of Pass Christian, MS; grandchildren, Dalton Kelly of Moody, AL, Oni Warner and Ash Warner both of Franklin, TN, Michael Hancock and Brandon Hancock of Panama City, FL, Chandler, Haley and Katie Smith; daughter-in-law, Robin Hancock; sister-in-law, Linda Hancock, brother-in-law Lamar Adkins of Pinson, AL. Services will be on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 12 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
