Robert Gravelle

Robert Sherman Gravelle, Age 82, of Birmingham died Tuesday, April 14 2015 surrounded by family. Originally from Crowville, Louisiana, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He had worked for many years in the lumber industry in California and the retail furniture business in Birmingham. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Jewell Gravelle in July of 2012. Survivors: Sons and daughter-in-laws Bradford Lee and Rexie Gravelle of Chelsea, Ralph Allen and Sue Gravelle of Trussville; Daughters Lynette Montgomery of Leeds, and Deborah Gaudin of Tucson. Grandson Jason Gravelle and wife Jackie, Great Grandchildren Gannon and Elise, Grandson Christopher Gaudin, Great Grandson Jace, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, and other relations. Mr. Gravelle was predeceased by his sons Michael Gravelle (b.1955, d. 1973), Broderick Gravelle (b. 1955, d. 1956) and grandson James "J.D." Montgomery (b. 1981, d. 2011). Memorial Services will be Monday, April 20th at 12:00 noon, at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm Monday. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
