Robert E. Smith Sr.

Robert Elton Smith Sr. (Bob) of Springville, AL born on May 16, 1930 passed away July 24, 2019 at the age of 89. He served in the Korean War with the United States Navy as an Engineer aboard the USS Thuban (AKA-19), he was an Ordained Baptist Minister, a member of the Masons with 66 years of service, Irondale Lodge No. 506 F.and A.M., and attended the Pearl Lake Baptist Church of Springville. Robert is survived by his son, Robert E. Smith II (Tina), son Ricky Hill (Sheila) daughter Vickie Nichols (Robert), daughter Darlene Davis (Mark); brothers Lloyd Smith (Darlene) and Troy Smith; sisters Carrie Ash (Paul), Tommie Jett (Ron), Mary Wadsworth (Lonnie) and Sondra Nash (Gene), eight grand kids and fourteen great grandkids. Robert is proceded in death by his wife Betty Smith, parents Samuel Smith and Joyce Payne Smith, his brothers Elbert Smith, Curtis Smith, and Junior Smith; sisters Bernice Smith, Barbara Goodwin, and Betty Jo Company.
