Robert Cheney

Robert Henry Cheney, age 86, of Center Point, AL passed away on May 10th, 2018. He was born in New Hampshire to Bert and Bertha Cheney. He was the youngest of four children. He joined the Air Force immediately after graduating from high school. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged after seven years of service. Robert retired from the post office after 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Robert looked forward to holidays, family gatherings and spending time at the lake. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his three siblings, Pauline, Louise and Claude; his wife of 62 years, Barbara Cheney and a great grandson, Owen Cheney. Robert is survived by his daughters, Linda Clay (Rick) and Charlotte Baker (Rick); his son, Michael Cheney; five grandchildren, Matthew Clay, Devane Cheney, Dustin Cheney, Andy Baker and Scott Clay; four great grandchildren. The funeral for Robert will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, May 15th at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Trussville with visitation held one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at Jefferson Memoria’s adjoining cemetery.
