Robert E. “Bob” Bagby Jr. age 57 of Columbia, Tennessee, formerly of Birmingham, passed away Friday April 6, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born November 13, 1960 in Birmingham, Alabama. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and was a 1979 graduate of Huffman High School. He attended Jefferson State Junior College for two years before transferring to UAB on a ROTC scholarship where he received his degree in criminal justice. After graduation, he entered the United States Army as a 2nd Lieutenant where he served 2 years and made the rank of 1st Lieutenant before his 2 years of service was finished. He was then employed at Ford Motor Credit, where he has been since, with over 28 years of service. He was an avid fan of The Alabama Crimson Tide and The Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League. He enjoyed going to see movies every weekend and reading books. He especially enjoyed spending time and going on trips with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Bagby Sr. and his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Henry G. Bagby and Mr. & Mrs. Homer L. Hale. He is survived by his mother, Katie L. Bagby of Birmingham; brother, Steven L. Bagby of Birmingham; aunt, Iris B. Watson of Huntsville; aunt, Frances A. Hardy and uncle, Mickey J. Hardy Sr. of Pelham; numerous cousins and many friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday April 10, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Trussville. A chapel service will be held on Wednesday April 11, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Trussville with Bro. Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of The Last Supper at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. The following will serve as pallbearers: James H. Hale, Robert M. “Bob” Miller, Mickey J. Hardy Jr., Thomas D. “David” Smith, John H. Bagby and Christopher D. “Chris” Evans. The family would like to thank Gwen Puffer for everything she has done for Bob over the years including carpooling with him to work and back. You were a dear friend to Bob, helping out whenever needed. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2nd Timothy 4:7.
