R.T. McMunn, also known by friends and family as “Pops” passed away on July 7, 2018 at the age of 84. R.T. was a member of Margaret Church of Christ. He served as a combat engineer for the U.S. Army during the Korean War. R.T. served over 30 years at Hayes Aircraft/PEMCO. He enjoyed volunteering at Children’s Hospital of Alabama where he portrayed “Goosepimples the Clown” bringing smiles to children’s faces. He enjoyed his musical performances at the Odenville Senior Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Flossie McMunn; his two brothers, Doug and Dewey McMunn; his sister, Lois Black; his two former wives, Betty Jo and Martha, and grandson, Daniel McMunn. R.T. is survived by his daughter, Leeann Rogers (Fred); three sons, Rick, Randy and Eric McMunn; sister, Mary Bundict and brother, Matthew McMunn, Jr. (Flara). He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and his lifelong friend, Darlene Black. A funeral for R.T. will be on Tuesday, July 10th at Jefferson Memorial Chapel at 2PM. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Brother Kevin Skelton is officiating.
