Richard Cornelius

Richard Larry "Corny" Cornelius, beloved husband and father, 58, of Pinson, passed away at his home on July 26, 2009 with his loving family by his side. He was retired from Bell South after 34 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Deerfoot Baptist Church. Services will be Tuesday July 28, at 2pm in the Chapel with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Dr Wayne Scott officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 7pm Monday. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Debbie Cornelius, son Adam Cornelius (Teresa), daughter Dana Williams (John), granddaughter Chloe and grandson Jack, one sister Betty Godwin, Florence AL, nephews John R. Godwin, and Jeff Godwin, nieces Karen King, Leigh Rice and Cindy Burleson, special uncle Joe Lee Goodman, and special aunt Mary Dean Watkins and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Dessie Cornelius, brother James Cornelius, baby sister Loretta Cornelius. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses with New Beacon Hospice for all their love and care during Larry's illness. In lieu of flowers make donations to Lewy Body Dementia or New Beacon Hospice.
