Richard Colby Jr.

Mr. Richard Colby Jr., 70, of Trussville passed away on June 30, 2018. Richard is retired as Senior Electrical Designer from Alabama Power after 40 years of service. He was a devoted member of Springville First United Methodist Church, served in the Air National Guard and Army Reserve, and most importantly, was a loving husband, father, and “B.” He is survived by his wife, Barbara S. Colby; sons, Gregory R. (Gina) and Michael R.; grandchildren, Madison, Haley, Sarah, Ella, and Hudson; brother-in-law, Robert H. Sykes Jr. (Joyce); and numerous loving cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard W. Colby Sr. and Janie V. Colby; and sister, Janie R. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 from 10:30am to 12:00pm at Springville First United Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 12:00pm from the church sanctuary. Interment will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East in Trussville at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations be made to the Springville First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
