Richard C. Abel, Jr.

Abel, Richard C. Jr., 59, passed away Friday evening, Sept. 15th.  He was predeceased by his parents, Louise Stringer Abel and Richard C. Abel, Sr., and sister, Patricia Layton Maxey. Richard graduated from Erwin High School and earned his Bachelors degree from UAB. Richard was President of American Screen & Crusher, Inc., Alabaster, AL.

Richard's hobby was riding his Harley-Davidson especially riding it to the Florida beaches. He loved hunting, and all activities of the outdoors.

Richard is survived by his son, Richard Haywood Abel, Dallas, GA and his sister, Lynda Abel Wheat (Jim), Panama City Beach, FL.; nephew, J. Matthew Wheat, Helena, AL, nieces, Ginger Maxey Walker (Steve), Madison, AL, and Sherilyn Sue Maxey, Warrior, AL. 
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 19th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville. There will be no funeral service.
