Rheubin Scott, age 88, of Trussville passed away on Wednesday, April 1, after a prolonged illness. Mr. Scott served in the Navy during World War II and was retired from U.S. Steel and Compass Bank. Before his illness, Mr. Scott was active in the VFW and American Legion. He loved Alabama football, fishing with his sons and grandsons, and flying radio-controlled airplanes. Mr. Scott was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Trussville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rheubin and Pearl Scott, and his beloved wife, Betty Marcus Scott. Mr. Scott is survived by his sons, Robert Scott (Kay) and Rheubin "Chuck" Scott (Sue); one sister, Peggy Harris (James): brothers, Tom Frank Scott (Janie) and Bobby Ray Scott (Eunice); four grandchildren, Elizabeth Wilson (Brian), Christopher Scott, Jeffery Scott (Brittany) and Adam Scott (Katy); great-grandchildren Charlotte Wilson and Clara Wilson; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 4, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East, with Reverend Molly Clark officiating.
